Mundy Grooming

Just had my second haircut with Mundy Grooming and couldn't recommend them enough. From day one I explained I wasn't after a fade, I wanted to grow my hair out into a longer layered style with loads of natural flow, and they've understood exactly what I was trying to achieve. Rather than taking loads off, they've worked with the length, kept the weight where it needed to be and shaped it properly so it keeps growing the right way. This second cut has come out even better than the first and my hair is sitting exactly how I wanted. You can tell they actually listen instead of just giving everyone the same haircut. Top attention to detail, great atmosphere and proper skilled barbers. Looking forward to seeing how it comes along over the next few cuts. Cheers lads

I'd like to start by saying I am quite particular about my hair and it's fairly long in a flow hairstyle, so is quite difficult to cut. I washed my hair prior to appointment as it wasn't stated anywhere that they would wash my hair. I said this as soon as I arrived and they said they'd just wet it. They then proceeded to shampoo it, removing all moisture for the second time in an hour. They then didn't put any conditioner in it, causing it to frizz and knot. I came prepared with photos of what I wanted, while my hairdresser did take his time looking at the photos, he didn't ask any clarifying questions, leaving the onus completely on me to specify what I wanted. I appreciated the attention to detail he took with the length of his cuts, he cut it evenly on both sides and did not take too much off. However, a flow requires layering (which tbf takes an experienced barber), and he didn't achieve this. After cutting, he proceeded to blow dry my hair without a diffuser, increasing the frizz severely. I made the mistake of asking for a bit of leave-in conditioner to try and add a bit of moisture back into my hair, he did not know what this was. The other hairdresser showed him the bottle. Instead of asking how much he should use, or reading the label, he absolutely lathered my hair in it - using ~5x the amount recommended. My hair is now somewhat solid. Generally, I appreciated the effort he put into the cut and the attention he paid to the photos. But the lack of consultation was really disappointing. I don't mind inexperience or uncertainty, I do however mind a lack of communication and ultimately that's why I won't be returning.
