I’m so pleased I followed a recommendation given by a stranger that i stopped in the street to ask who cuts her hair! I’ve been searching for such a long time to find a decent hairdresser, Peter is amazing!! Nothing to alter with my own scissors when I got home either lol - that’s been something I’ve done after having many bad cuts over the last 10 years or so 😳 Peter will be making me look fabulous again really soon and my son is coming for a haircut too this time 😬
Have been coming to Pete for a while now and thought it’s about time I left a review as I have always been delighted with the results when leaving the salon, the man is so good at his job! If you’re looking for a change of colour, or not happy with the colour or hair style that you currently have for whatever reason, you’d do well to book in for a consultation with Pete. He is a colour specialist with years of experience and knowledge, he will give you great, honest advice and a banging blow-dry. Plus he’s great fun to hang out with for two hours while your colour is cooking! Oh and if you need any further reason to book an appointment the coffee is to die for!
I’m disappointed to say that my experience this time was not at all positive. This was my 6th visit for a 6 weekly colour, cut and finish. When my hair was finished I did comment on how dark it was but Peter said that it was because my hair was lighter. I feel that the colour should have been adjusted to compensate for the lighter base colour. When I got home, I re washed my hair to see if it made a difference but it didn’t. The following day I rang the salon and again told Peter that my hair was too dark. Peter advised me to wash hair in head and shoulders which should help to fade the colour. I didn’t feel valued as a customer and felt that I should have been offered an appointment to try and rectify the situation. I don’t buy head and shoulders and I had already paid for a colour cut and finish so feel that I shouldn’t have had to Wash and dry my hair. I felt there was an air of arrogance on this occasion and that is something that a hairdresser should never be.
I am very disappointed to read this review. But just wanted to address a few of your issues. During the initial consultation I did ask if you were happy with the colour we had been using you did agree. When you called the salon I advised you to wash your hair in head and shoulders as sometimes this can lift out any colour residue. I did also and reapetedly offer for you to come back in to the salon after you had done this and I could clarify your hair to remove the colour, I have tried to call you to see how you had got on and to see if there was any thing I could have done. I do feel I have been nothing but accommodating to your self and you past appointments.
Peter has been cutting my hair for 3 years and has become much more than just a hairdresser to me but a friend. I have very curly hair and he has made me fall back in love with it over the years. His knowledge of colour is second to none to the point he has coloured it twice in that time and somehow it has lasted and looked amazing. He stocks beautiful products, never tries to oversell anything but gives you his opinion and lets you go from there. I look forward to my appointments with Peter so much I ensure I have bookings in for at least the next three appointments. Thank you Peter for always going above and beyond and for your “however” stories that keep me entertained and sane!
